There’s no one doing what we do, and in order to continue doing it we need your help. We’re a small team working in a critically under-funded and under-resourced field, in an area that is often seen as controversial or simply not important.
We know that the way children and young people think about their bodies impacts both how they treat their own bodies and how they treat the bodies of others. And we also know that not enough people know this!
This means that, when it comes to investing in training, workshops and resources to promote positive body image in children and young people, this area of spending isn’t seen as a priority. Sadly, this is having a devastating impact on future generations, who are experiencing increased levels of eating disorders, appearance-based bullying and mental health issues associated with poor body image, including anxiety and depression.
With your help, we can continue to create culture change in schools, families and organisations via our workshops, training programmes and resources, and measure the impact of our work with tangible robust data which will fuel future change and investment in this vital area. Ultimately, your donation will help us to help more children be friends with their bodies and treat the bodies of others with respect, kindness and dignity too.
Help us and be part of the change by building a Body Happy future so that all children can grow up respecting, accepting and embracing all bodies - especially their own.
We’re currently pursuing a fundraising target of an additional £50,000 to scale our Body Happy Schools programme. This is the UK’s first whole school programme designed help children and young people celebrate, respect and accept ALL bodies - especially their own.
We’re interested in building corporate partnerships to develop a digital version of this programme enabling us to reach more schools and subsidise those in areas of socio-economic deprivation. If you can help, get in touch at hello@bodyhappyorg.com.
